Use a Sat Nav device and plan your journey beforehand Remove some of the stress of not knowing where you re going or which roads to take by both planning your journey beforehand and by using your Sat Nav device throughout the journey. This will help calm your nerves as it removes a lot of the unknowns from a journey to a new destination. 4. Listen to music or a podcast Listening to music has been shown to have a positive impact on calming nerves especially if the music is upbeat or calming - some upbeat pop tunes or calming classical music could be perfect for helping to settle the nerves! A podcast you enjoy could also take your mind off your nerves whilst embarking on the journey. 5.
