New research has revealed the local authorities which reported the highest number of road accidents caused by poor vision in the last year. The research by Feel Good Contacts analysed the number of reported road accidents and casualties in Great Britain over the past year by revealing the percentage of accidents caused by uncorrected defective eyesight across the country. The Isle of Anglesey in Wales reported the highest number of road accidents caused by poor eyesight since 2020 with 4.88% of accidents recorded according to the Department for Transport. Wales reported the highest number of road accidents caused by poor vision in the UK over the last year with the region recording 8.14% of road accidents and casualties where poor vision was a contributing factor - the highest percentage recorded in the whole county. Scotland was the second region in the UK to record the highest number of road accidents caused by poor eyesight with the region claiming 7.16% of the accidents recorded. The Scottish local authorities which recorded the most road accidents due to poor vision were Aberdeenshire East Lothian Renfrewshire and Fife. Reading recorded the highest number of accidents due to poor vision in England with the South East local authority recording 3.28% of the total number of road accidents in the last year.
